Human Resources Department
The Human Resources Department initiates and provides support in the preparation, development and implementation of HR policy, the aim of which is to ensure the optimum functioning of the administrative organisation of the House of Representatives and its staff. The Department translates vision and developments within and outside the organisation into priorities in HR policy.
The Department is also responsible for implementing the HR policy, managing personnel administration, paying civil servants’ salaries, transferring compensation payments to MPs and supporting the salary administration for the Senate. The HR department is also charged with implementing and providing information about the Indemnification Act and the General Pensions (Holders of Political Office) Act (Appa).
