Foreign Affairs

The committee on Foreign Affairs deals with issues related to the foreign minister's policy, except internal European Union (EU) policy. EU issues are handled by the committee on European Affairs. The Foreign Affairs committee regularly consults with the minister on current issues, such as the situation in conflict areas, human rights and the deployment of Dutch military personnel to crisis areas. The committee also handles the Foreign Affairs budget, receives international delegations and goes on working visits abroad every year.
