Committee discusses online banking
The committee for Finance discusses recent problems with online banking with Finance minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
In the past few months clients of several major Dutch banks had problems with online banking. Some days they were unable to arrange online money transfers and they could not check the balance of their account. There were also moments when consumers could not use their debit cards in shops, restaurants etcetera. Later it became clear that a number of the problems were the result of so-called Ddos-attacks. In a debate with Finance minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem the committee of finance will discuss the risks of the online banking system and ways of making the system less vulnerable.
