Committee Health, Welfare and Sport visits Nordrhein-Westfalen
From Tuesday 10 January until Friday 13 January, a delegation of the Committee of Health, Welfare and Sport is paying a closed working visit to the German federal state Nordrhein-Westfalen.
From Tuesday 10 January until Friday 13 January, a delegation of the Committee of Health, Welfare and Sport is paying a closed working visit to the German federal state Nordrhein-Westfalen (the area around Düsseldorf). The visit is dedicated to policy on the elderly.
Subject
The MPs want to be informed about German law and regulations and the practical arrangements of short and long-term care to the elderly, both on an urban and national level. This in the light of the Social Support Act (Wmo) that was introduced on 1 January 2007 in the Netherlands and the discussion about the future of the Exceptional Medical Expenses Act (AWBZ) and care for the elderly in the Netherlands.
Themes
The delegation will have conversations with government representatives and persons involved in care for the eldery, including healthcare providers, patients and client organizations, home care organizations, health insurers and scientists. They are dealing with issues such as the insurance system, small-scale residential-care combinations, home care, the labour market-and waiting list problems in the healthcare sector and opportunities for innovation.
