States General to prepare joint session for the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander
The new King will be sworn in and inaugurated at a public and joint session of the two Houses of the States General, to be held in the Nieuwe Kerk Church in the capital city, Amsterdam.
The new King will be sworn in and inaugurated at a public and joint session of the two Houses of the States General, to be held in the Nieuwe Kerk Church in the capital city, Amsterdam.
A joint session comprises all the members of both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The last joint session concerning the inauguration of a sovereign took place on 30 April 1980 in the Nieuwe Kerk Church in Amsterdam.
The preparations for the inauguration are carried out under the leadership of Mr G.J. de Graaf, President of the Senate, who will preside over the joint session on 30 April 2013.
