Special joint meeting of both chambers of Parliament
On Friday 16 October a special joint meeting took place in the Hall of Knights. On that that day it was exactly 200 years since both chambers held a joint meeting in The Hague for the first time.
The theme of the meeting in the Hall of Knights was the significance of both chambers for the Dutch democracy and society and the challenges for the future. Both the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives addressed the joint meeting. Apart from the members of both chambers and the Cabinet, also His Majesty king Willem Alexander and many invited guests were in attendance.
