Dutch Members of Parliament to Parliamentary Assembly NATO
From Friday 7 till Monday 10 October a delegation of Dutch Members of Parliament took part in the annual meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Bucharest, Romania.
From Friday 7 till Monday 10 October a delegation of Dutch Members of Parliament took part in the annual meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Bucharest, Romania.
The Dutch delegation consisted of the following Members of Parliament:
- Mr Henk Jan Ormel (Christian Democratic Appeal, House of Representatives, delegation leader)
- Mr André Bosman (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, House of Representatives)
- Mr Han ten Broeke (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, House of Representatives)
- Mr Simon van Driel (Labour Party, former member of the Senate)
- Ms Angelien Eijsink (Labour Party, House of Representatives)
- Mr Marcel de Graaff (Party for Freedom, Senate)
- Mr Frank van Kappen (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, Senate)
- Mr Menno Knip (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, Senate)
- Mr Raymond Knops (Christian Democratic Appeal, House of Representatives)
- Mr Arjan Vliegenthart (Socialist Party, Senate)
The Members debated with 250 fellow-Parliamentarians from NATO member states about the NATO operations in Libya and Afghanistan. Furthermore, they debated about the strategic consequences of the economic crisis and the recent growth of China.
