Debate about prison facilities

The House will debate plans by the government  to close 24 prison facilities  all over the country on Thursday.

The Dutch government is planning to close 24 prison facilities all over the country. It is the main element of an all over plan to reduce the costs for the detention of criminals with 340 million euros  until 2018. One of the methods to achieve this is a plan to stimulate the use of personal electronic  control devices instead of detention.
