Committee of Foreign Affairs visits Middle East
From Sunday 20 February till Monday 28 February, the Committee of Foreign Affairs paid a working visit to the Middle East. The delegation visited Lebanon, Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian areas.

Political developments
The visit’s purpose was to gain insight in the Middle East peace policy and the recent political developments in several countries in the Arab world. In Jerusalem and the capitals of Beirut, Amman, Tel Aviv and Ramallah, the delegation met politicians and representatives of trade and industry and non-governmental organizations.
Programme
The MPs visited a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon and there was also a meeting with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), close to the border with Israel. In the Palestinian areas the delegation visited projects financed with Dutch development funds.
